About

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a clinical member of the AAMFT. I have been working with children, individuals, couples and families for over 17 years in a clinical environment. I earned a B.A. Degree in Humanities in 1988 from Brigham Young University. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Science Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Southern Christian University in 2000. I was certified as a Child Mental Health Specialist in 2004 and as an Attachment Specialist in 2010.

I have clinical training in Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Lifespan Integration, Narrative Therapy, Attachment Therapy, and Bowenian Therapy as well as Drug and Alcohol Treatment and Co-occurring Disorders Treatment. I use an integrated approach to help clients receive the most effective treatment possible to help reach their therapeutic goals. I attend regular trainings to learn the latest behavioral techniques, scientific approaches, and therapeutic interventions which will help me be more effective in facilitating change in my clients.

My experience and education have enabled me to help teens, individuals, couples, and families deal more successfully with problems such as: marital conflict, codependency, anxiety, depression, ADHD, Asperger’s Disorder, oppositional behavior, grief and loss, anger, poor social skills, PTSD, abuse and trauma, as well as attachment and adoption issues.

I come from a teaching background. Until 2015 while working as a counselor I also acted as a owner and teacher of a private school for young children for over 16 years. During that time I had the opportunity to offer scholarships to children who would otherwise not be able to attend school. I enjoy working with people and have been involved in many service positions within my church for over 35 years. I also enjoy being involved in community service and in the past donated my time to a “no kill animal shelter.” I believe in creating abundance in my life and the life of other others by giving and serving in my community.
